Macaroni Cheese

Directions

Fill large saucepan with water & bring to the boil. Add pasta & a dash of salt, boil pasta until soft, drain & set aside.

In fry pan add onion and ham then fry in basil oil (NB if using fresh basil then use olive oil to fry onion & bacon and add basil at the end). Remove from heat & set aside.

In large glass measuring jug mix corn flour, butter, milk, salt & pepper. Cook in microwave on high for approx 2-4mins or until at desired consistency, stirring every 15-20 seconds. Note - this can overflow very quickly, you much watch it whilst in the microwave.

Combine pasta, onion mixture & white sauce in fry pan and add cheese. Heat for a few minutes then serve with fresh parmesan and basil.

Enjoy!

Serves 2-3

  • I like the suggestion to use basil oil. I have never tried it before, which brand to you use?
